Uppsala län, Uppsala

Previous experience is desired

30 days left
to apply for the job

For those who want to be involved in developing contract archaeology and work to bridge the gap between contract archaeology and research, this opportunity is now available. We are looking for knowledgeable and qualified employees who are also curious and interested in challenging established notions about our history and interpretations of archaeological source material.

Job Responsibilities

You will administer and lead contract archaeological projects and be responsible for ensuring they are carried out professionally according to the client's specifications, timeline, and budget. This includes investigations, preliminary studies, archaeological surveys, and report writing.

In this work, you should include smaller studies that contextualize the results so that all efforts contribute to knowledge building and can enhance our understanding of the past.

Qualifications

An academic degree in archaeology is required, along with at least 1-2 years of work experience. We prefer that you have experience in project management and are familiar with surveying and GIS work. You should have a good command of Swedish or another Scandinavian language, both spoken and written.

Since the tasks involve both independent work and teamwork, you need to have good collaboration and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt the quality of tasks and results according to the client's requirements and wishes. You need to be able to plan, prioritize, meet deadlines and budgets, and handle situations that require great flexibility. Of course, you are also meticulous and patient in your work.

Employment

The position is a permanent employment. We apply a 6-month probationary period.

As travel is common in the position, a B driver's license is required. Assignments are primarily carried out in central Sweden and may involve overnight stays.

The work is physically demanding and requires good physical condition.

Start date according to agreement.

Workplace

We offer you an inspiring and constantly developing job, active work environment efforts, and competent colleagues. Our office is located in central Uppsala, a 15-minute walk from the central station.

Application

Applications should be sent to [email protected] and must include a CV and a personal letter, no later than January 30. Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

If you have any questions, please contact Operations Manager Lars Sundström at [email protected], 070-0929946 or our union representative Sofia Prata at [email protected], 076-4920474.
